Just diagnosed
I was just diagnosed with Lupus in June. I have been sick for exactly a year with something different every time that I turn around. I have had almost 6 sinus infections, the flu, oral surgery & was finally forced by my husband to go the doctory in May because I was feeling faint & couldn't do 1/2 of my normal day to day routine without having to rest, frequently having fevers, waking up sore & being in pain all the time. I had a major physical by the doctor after & I felt like a fool but she is so great and she sat with me for an hour and told me to tell her everything, no matter how small. I thought of everything strange that had happened to me over the past year and she did several tests. They first called me back a few days after my physical and told me that I had severe anemia. My blood count was 5 and so I had to go that day for a blood transfusion. Then I assumed that was the issue and was really shocked when the doctor told me that she thought I could possibly have lupus. I have had lots of blood tests, iron infusions for the anemia and am seeing a rhematologist & a hematologist. I am so frustrated because I have heard lots of stories. I am worried that I will get sick at any time. I am so blessed to have such a support system in my family but my body aches all the time. It takes me 2 hours to get going in the morning and I have had a cold for the past few days so I am really sick. I am very blessed to be a stay at home mom to school-age children and be able to rest when I need to but I feel like I am cheating my family when I have to lie down for a minute. Not to mention that my husband is a bi-vocational pastor and he has just taken a larger church so we are on the go nonstop. I am glad to have found this site to know that there are others who experience what I do.
